Where are my tickets?
After purchasing tickets on our website, you should receive an email receipt within 1-2 hours confirming your order. You may need to check your spam/junk folders for this email. Your tickets will be waiting for you at the show. Simply give your name to our friendly box office volunteers when you arrive at the theatre and they will check you in.
Something has come up, and I can’t make the show anymore. What are my options?
Life happens! While we cannot provide refunds, our goal is to ensure you have the most exceptional experience. Season ticket holders have the ability to change their tickets to a different performance for free by contacting us in advance. Another option is to transfer your tickets to a friend and send them in your place. Another option is to convert your ticket purchase into a charitable donation, if you advise us at least 24 hours before the performance that you are unable to attend. In all of these cases, we recommend you reach out to us via our contact form on the website.

Organization Questions
Is Hood and Dagger Productions a registered charity?
Yes, Hood and Dagger Productions is a registered charity in Winnipeg, founded in January 2024, with a mandate to “Build Community through Community Theatre”, charity #70152 7210 RR0001. We can accept donations via our website under the “Donate” section and through Canada Helps directly. Your generous support helps fund our community initiatives, such as providing complimentary tickets to groups who may experience barriers to engaging in the Arts.
How do you select your partner charities?
Our independent Board of Directors selects the partner charities for each of the three productions in our season of theatre. If you would like your organization to be considered, please reach out to us via our simple contact form!
Is Hood and Dagger Productions a third-party fundraiser?
No. We form win-win partnerships with local charities. The partner charity helps us promote our shows using free methods available to them (e.g. sharing our social media posts, mentioning us in their newsletter, hanging a poster at their location, etc.), and we promote them on our website, socials, and media interviews. We give the partner charity a portion of ticket sales as payment for the help promoting the show and we offer them a free booth in our community partner lobby. When you elevate others, good things happen!
Where are you located?
Hood and Dagger Productions is located in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
We are headquartered in Charleswood (which is also where we build our sets), we rehearse in St. James, and our shows are performed in different rented venues around the City.
Is this a volunteer organization?
Yes! All cast and crew roles (including the Directors and Stage Managers) are volunteers!
The only exception is that sometimes we are able to receive grants to cover the cost of a professional lighting designer, and/or to have a professional in the industry to provide a half-day workshop for our cast and crew. We are at times also able to receive a grant to help pay for a bookkeeper to perform accounting and governance functions.
Can my kids under 18 get involved in a show?
Typically, our acting opportunities are for adults, though we encourage you to read the audition character descriptions for any exceptions. Another great way to get involved would be to apply for a crew position in our production calls.
Is there a cost to audition or to be in the cast or crew?
No! Signing up for an audition is free and there is no membership fee to be in the cast or crew. We’ve also been able to negotiate complimentary parking at our rehearsal space during the rehearsal period for our cast and crew, and snacks are provided during rehearsals.

Show Questions
What genres do you specialize in?
Hood and Dagger Productions focuses on tales of Adventure, Mystery, and Thrills! Whether it’s tales of ghostly figures, sneaking spies, or following a detective on the hunt for a sly criminal, we want you to be on the edge of your seats.
Are any of your plays scary? Is there an age rating to attend your productions?
We love creating spooky atmospheres and suspenseful shows, without being frightening or gory. Typically, productions would be rated PG13. If you have specific questions about a show or particular content concerns, we encourage you to contact us directly in advance.
Are your shows interactive?
No. The only audience interaction we seek are your ‘ooos and ahhhs’ (and applause!) from the comfort of your seats.
Do you write your own plays?
Hood and Dagger Productions stages established theatrical plays which have been licensed from the playwrights. The playwrights’ words cannot be changed, altered, or cut without permission from the author. On occasion, we have requested and received permission from playwrights to make minor changes, such as updating antiquated language, changing a character’s gender, or providing inclusive character opportunities that better reflect community members who audition for our shows.
